Credits: 5 Lecture Hours: 5 Laboratory Hours: 0 The study of algebraic, trigonometric, and transcendental functions with emphasis on preparation for calculus. Relations, functions, and their graphs; polynomial functions; exponential and logarithmic functions; trigonometric functions; trigonometric identities and equations; laws of sines and cosines; polar coordinates and equations; and parametric equations. Students cannot use both this course and MATH 1022 to meet a degree’s requirements. Offered as needed.
Prerequisite(s): ACT score as specified in the placement section of the catalog or a grade of “C” or higher in MATH 1021 or permission of the department. Fulfills General Education Requirements.
