BIOL 3030 - Biomes and Communities of North America Credits: 1-3 Lecture Hours: 0 Laboratory Hours: 0 Introduction to the fundamental principles of biomes including the organismal, population, community, and ecosystem levels. Students will utilize the outdoor classroom to learn and explore ecological phenomena through qualitative observations as well as quantitative studies. One or more biomes will be chosen by the instructor(s) as the focus of the course, and pre-trip lectures as well as a one- to two-week field trip through selected biomes of North America will be included. This course is designed to be taught during university breaks or summer session. Students may have to pay for some travel costs. Offered as needed.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1202 and ENGL 1002 ; or permission of department chair.
