An overview of the body of scientific work regarding dyslexia, beginning with its historical information and continuing through present day findings. Topics covered include early clinical indicators of dyslexia; practical applications of common ways to identify students who may be at risk for dyslexia; an overview of evidence-based instruction for individuals with dyslexia; and an introduction to the process of becoming a dyslexia practitioner or dyslexia therapist.
Prerequisite(s): EDCI 2700 or permission of the instructor.
